Process management at our university is a long-term concept of procedures, responsibilities and IT support in order to ensure an effective and efficient process organisation (cf. Fischermanns (2008) p. 26).
In this context, the persons involved in the process management deal in particular with the identification, design, documentation, implementation, control and improvement of processes. This means that processes are continuously optimised.
The use of process management means that
- by optimising and standardising processes, we can increase the transparency of actions for employees, i.e. process customers,
- improve knowledge transfer within the university, and
- simplify the integration of new employees or the representation of superiors and/or colleagues
(cf. inter alia. NW PM of the BMI (2018) p. III).
Knowledge and mastery of your own business processes is also a prerequisite for offering high-quality services and products in the field of studies, teaching, administration, research and further training. Accordingly, a modern and sustainable university organisation is characterised by the knowledge, analysis and optimal orientation and interlocking of its processes (cf. Sehl, Ilka/Hamschmidt, Martin (2011) in Altvater inter alia [pub.] 12/2011, p. 39-55, S. 39).
At our university we provide the recorded process via HELPP (University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer Process Portal).
Further information on process management (organisation and roles, process start procedure, process approval) can be obtained after Logging on to the intranet.
