Swapping and recycling

Foodsharing fridge

The “fooddealer” in the Lüttje Studi Huus allows our students and university members to store food they no longer need, or that they would like to hand in, in a fridge and shelf in the Studihuus so that other students can use it instead. The food swap is free of charge and everyone can take or store food as needed. In this way, the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer wants to set an example against food waste and encourage an appreciative approach to food.

Mobile phone recycling

You have the option of bringing old mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, power supply units etc. to our collection box in the university’s mailroom (room V 006). In cooperation with the “Das Boot” association, the parts that are no longer usable are disposed of via NABU. Details on the recycling process can be found here.

In this way, you can help to ensure that old devices are recycled properly and not exported to poorer countries as electronic waste.

Of course, despite recycling, it is always advisable to keep devices for as long as possible and to avoid new purchases as much as you can for sustainability reasons.

Book box

The book box is located on the second floor of the G building just after the stairs on the left. This box works just like public bookcases. Pick up books that you like, leave books there that you want others to have.
