Info for freshmen

At the beginning of each semester, the International Office offers a one-week orientation program.

This also includes a free intensive German course. But there are also events for networking and having fun, for example a German evening, a pub crawl, a games evening and you can also explore the city of Emden on a city rally.

If you are new to our university and are interested in taking part in this orientation week, please contact Ms. Marina Gastmann (marina.gastmann(at)hs-emden-leer.de).

The orientation week is free of charge and takes place entirely on campus in Emden.

Application and Admission Requirements

At the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, the Student Counselling Service supports prospective students with a foreign university entrance qualification regarding questions about the application procedure and admission requirements. This also includes information on required German language skills for studying in Emden or Leer.

Important note: Since the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer does not offer preparatory German language courses, prospective students need to inform themselves of respective German course offers in their home countries in due time.
