Studenten-Meldeverfahren (SMV)
For enrollment at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, proof of your insurance status must usually be submitted.
According to § 199a Abs. 2 SGB V, there is a mutual obligation to report between the statutory health insurances and the universities. Since 01.12.2021, Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences will use the electronic student notification procedure (SMV). Notifications from the health insurance companies in paper form can no longer be accepted from this date.
Please proceed as follows:
- If you have statutory insurance, please ask your health insurance company to electronically submit proof of your insurance status to Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, citing our sender number H0002194.
- If you are privately insured, please contact your last statutory health insurance company, which will confirm that you are privately insured, quoting our sender number H0002194, and that you are thus exempt from compulsory insurance. If you did not have a statutory insurance before, every statutory health insurance company will issue this certificate.
- In case of a change of health insurance, we require an electronic notification from the new health insurance company. However, this only applies to students who are already enrolled at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences.
- Students/applicants from abroad must also contact a statutory health insurance company in Germany for an electronic confirmation of insurance.
For all other questions regarding student health insurance, please contact your health insurance company directly.
