Qualification program

Welcome to the information page of the qualification program of the Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences.

The qualification program offers young academics an individual and systematic qualification on their career path. The aim is to actively advise, support and prepare you for the interdisciplinary requirements of a HAW professorship. Using a modular system, you can select specific training courses and develop your skills in line with your needs.

During the consultation, missing qualification modules are jointly identified and developed through suitable offers, so that a flexible qualification program is created that strengthens your professional ability.

Modules

The qualification program consists of four modules that teach key skills for an academic career. It offers individual and systematic further training that prepares students for the interdisciplinary requirements of a HAW professorship.

Within the modules, various event formats are bundled, which are offered by institutions and projects of the Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences. Participants can choose flexibly from these offers and thus put together a tailor-made training program. Certificates of attendance can be issued within the framework of the program after attending an event.

During the consultation, missing qualification modules are jointly identified and supplemented with suitable training courses. In this way, individual skills gaps can be closed and one's own professional skills systematically strengthened.

In the Key Qualifications module, you will find various events and offers on topics such as sustainability, gender competence, digitalization, personal development and internationalization.

Q&A on the qualification program

The program is aimed at people who are interested in an academic career and would like to gain further qualifications. The advisory service is therefore generally offered to all interested persons, including those from outside the university.
However, participation in free further education courses such as training courses, workshops etc. is only possible for people within the university.

A doctorate is not a prerequisite for participation.

Contact us and arrange an initial non-binding consultation and introductory appointment at ankerprof(at)hs-emden-leer.de or by telephone on +49 4921 807 1368.

As various course formats are bundled within the modules, which are offered by institutions and projects at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, the courses offered vary from semester to semester. These also depend on the respective requirements.

When you complete the program, the university will issue you with a certificate confirming the training courses you have attended. As the program includes individual further training and support, there is no official completion of the program.

The events offered relate exclusively to interdisciplinary qualifications. However, in the advisory and support meetings, advice is also given on specialist further training and referrals are made to other - also external - bodies/offers.

You can find an overview of events in the university's calendar of events . You can also find further current events/newsletters on the respective pages of the institutions. If you have specific training requests or questions, please contact us at ankerprof(at)hs-emden-leer.de.

We also support you on your path to an academic career with peer learning opportunities and network meetings such as the regular "Austauschhafen" or the so-called "Schreibwerft" (long evenings of writing and networking).
