The Emden / Leer University of Applied Sciences has compiled information for first-semester students for all faculties. You will find: dates, information on finding a room at the university, health insurance during your studies and BAföG (Federal Training Assistance Act) as well as information on semester fees.
The Student Service Centre (SSC) is also available to answer any questions you may have.
When and how do I start?
The summer semester 2025 starts for all students from 3rd March 2025.
We are organising a first semester week for new students from 3-7 March 2025, which will probably also include a pre-study maths course.
The first semester week begins on Monday, 3 March 2025. All first-semester students in the Faculty of Maritime Sciences will receive detailed information about the first semester week programme by email in February.
Participation in the first semester week and the preparatory maths course is not mandatory. However, you will receive important tips and refresh your maths knowledge for the start of your studies, get to know all the other first semester students and get a taste of university life. In the pre-study maths course, mathematical knowledge from school is repeated to make your first semester at university easier.
