You will have an e-mail address on the university's central mail server for the duration of your studies. This address is your central contact point for all matters concerning your studies.

 

You can access the university's central mail server in several different ways.

Access via Outlook Web App

You can access your emails directly with your browser without having to install a local email client. To do this, go to the following page with your browser:

https://outlook.office.com (all students and all employees who have already migrated)

and log in with your email address, password, and, if applicable, your second factor.

Employees who have not yet migrated should log in at https://owa.hs-emden-leer.dewith their university login details. We will notify you as soon as you are migrated.

Access via Outlook

You can access your emails with a local Outlook client from your smartphone, laptop or PC. The following information applies exclusively to students and employees who have already migrated:

If you were still accessing our local Exchange account with your Outlook client, your client should have automatically connected to the new Microsoft 365 Exchange after the migration. If not, you can find migration help at

Migrating Outlook to Microsoft 365

If you set up a new Outlook, you only need to enter your university email address under "Add account" and you will be automatically guided through the installation.

Access via Thunderbird

If you want to set up your own mail client via IMAP, you can use the Thunderbird client. Authentication takes place via the OAUTH2 interface. The connection data is as follows:
