Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences will draw up an integrated climate protection concept in 2023 / 2024.

Starting with an analysis of the current situation, an energy and greenhouse gas balance will be drawn up. This will be used to develop a catalog of measures to achieve Emden/Leer University's self-imposed goal of climate neutrality by 2035, which goes beyond the legal obligation (climate neutrality by 2045).

In May 2023, a climate protection manager funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection was hired and commissioned to draw up the integrated climate protection concept.
