The University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer is currently planning to carry out the spring term 2022 in a face – to – face format. You can find important information on the relevant regulations and the framework conditions for face-to-face events (as of April 01, 2022) here.

The Level Plan for the Wintersemester 2021/22 you can find here. Please note that adjustments will probably be made by mid – February owing to the legal framework conditions that will apply by then.

You can find some tips for studying successfully in Corona times here. These were especially made for the spring term 2022.

The regulation for examination matters, which is valid for the fall term (NEW) 2021/22 can be found here. These regulations form the framework within which the examination committees of the individual departments can operate. If you have any questions about examination law, please contact your Dean of Studies or the chairperson of the examination committee in your department.

If you have a justified suspicion of a SARS-CoV-2 infection or a confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, you can help the university’s corona task force by completing and sending the COVID-19 reporting form. The task force will then contact you immediately and discuss the situation with you.

ALWAYS: If there is a reasonable suspicion that you have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, please call your family doctor, the hospital, or call the emergency number 116117 immediately. Never go to your doctor yourself! If necessary, please contact the responsible health authority afterwards.



Suspicion of a SARS-CoV-2 infection is considered to be justified when staying in risk areas up to max. 14 days before the onset of illness and / or upon contact with a S confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infected up to max. 14 days before the onset of illness.

A suspected SARS-CoV-2 infection is considered confirmed if the results of the laboratory examination are positive.

If there is reason to suspect that you have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2, call your family doctor immediately. Never go to your doctor yourself.

Then possibly contact your responsible health authority.




At the University of Applied Sciences Emden / Leer,  a mouth and nose protection (MNS) is mandatory in all public rooms. The MNS may be removed during courses if the minimum distance of 1.5 m is maintained.

According to Section 9, Paragraph 3 of the Lower Saxony Ordinance on Infection Protection Measures against the Spread of the Corona Virus, At the University of Applied Sciences Emden / Leer, MNS is mandatory in all public rooms. What can be offered online is offered online.

Classroom-based events take place where the learning objectives cannot be achieved or can only be achieved to a limited extent through online teaching.

As a result, this means that the vast majority of courses will be offered online in the winter semester 20/21. Face-to-face events take place in the faculties (study location Emden) or semester groups (study location Leer) every three weeks. For the study location Emden e.g. the overview below applies.

In addition, laboratories, internships and other events for which attendance is mandatory in order to achieve the teaching objectives will take place in attendance.

Due to the minimum distance to be observed, the maximum  sizes of the seminar and lecture rooms have changed. We provide you with a list of the new capacities here.
