Monique Moeslund runs the business of DesignByU in Bellingwolde together with her husband. The Dutch-Danish production company is nationally and internationally active in product design, production, distribution, fashion and home textiles. Why do you, as an entrepreneur, support cross-border cooperation with students as part of an internship?
Monique Moeslund:
Our business is a lot over the border. We have customers in Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and The Netherlands. Our production locations are in Turkey, China and India. From September 2020 we will start also to produce local in The Netherlands as what we capable to produce. Which will bring a lot of new opportunities.
We speak Danish, Dutch, English and a little German. We have been living in Germany and Denmark and traveled a lot to customers in Europe and to the production locations. We love to give our knowledge and experience to interesting students over the border. It is really interested what we can learn from each other.
What do you like about it and projects like "Grenzenlo(o)s Talent!“?
Monique Moesund:
We really love it. That is also the reason we are open minded to support as much as we can. It is important students can see and learn in another country.
What advice would you like to give to students looking for an internship in the Netherlands?
Monique Moeslund:
Grab your chance when you get the opportunity, it will give you so much experience and opens a lot of doors for you!
