From May 19 to 23, 2025, the 6th International Staff Training Week took place at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer under the theme “Networking in University Life”. This event was aimed at staff from universities working with the Erasmus+ program and included a varied program with individual workshops and a diverse cultural offering. We welcomed a total of 33 international guests from Portugal, Spain, Albania, Turkey, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Austria, France, New Zealand and Greece.

The participants were divided into special interest groups, with various offers from the Computer Center, the Finance Department, Knowledge and Technology Transfer, the Library, the Staff Council, the Gender Equality Office, the International Office and the Faculties of Business and Technology.

In addition to the informative workshops, the highlights of the week included a tea ceremony in Emden Town Hall, a welcome and farewell dinner, an excursion to the Maritime Campus in Leer, an excursion to the shipyard Meyer in Papenburg, a guided city tour of Emden, a visit to the State Museum and the Emden Bunker Museum and an excursion to the East Frisian island of Norderney.
