Design Lab - Study at a Think Tank!
Welcome to the website of the Design Lab at Emden-Leer University of Applied Sciences.
We would like to take this opportunity to give you a glimpse into our facilities, our equipment, and, of course, the student projects. The Design Lab serves as not only a seminar room for students in the Mechanical Engineering & Design program with a specialization in “Product Development and Design—Automotive,” but also as a hub and meeting place.
In the Design Lab’s spaces, in addition to lectures, seminars, and project supervision, students primarily work on a wide range of individual design projects.
From small design assignments to larger externally funded projects, students here—often working in teams—explore the field of industrial design, addressing issues such as ergonomics, product presentation, and computer-aided design using Alias AutoStudio. In keeping with the holistic approach of the innovative Product Development and Design—Automotive program, the often conflicting perspectives between engineering and design are transformed here into creative energy.
