With around 35,000 inhabitants, the town of Leer is the third largest town in East Frisia. Influenced by trade and shipping, it is still Germany's second largest shipping company location. The importance of the trading town is still evident in the picturesque old town where our campus is located.
Eleven professors teach and conduct research on our Maritime Campus, supported by around 20 subject teachers, teaching staff and science and administration staff. And the Business Campus has been offering a dual study programme in Business Administration since 2018. In short: The perfect choice for anyone who not only wants to breathe in the smell of the big wide world but also attaches great importance to practical studies in addition to theory.

Angebot für Studieninteressierte im April und Mai am Campus Emden
Die Zentrale Studienberatung (ZSB) der Hochschule Emden/Leer lädt im April und Mai zu zwei Informationstagen für Studieninteressierte ein. Unter dem Motto „Studium live erleben“ können sich alle, die eventuell aufgrund der Wetterlage im Februar nicht am großen Hochschulinformationstag HIT teilnehmen konnten, über die Studienmöglichkeiten, Voraussetzungen und Unterstützungsangebote zu informieren.
„Ein Studium ist eine wichtige Entscheidung – und die trifft man am besten mit echten Einblicken“, so Kirsten Agostini von der ZSB. Die Teilnehmenden erhalten am Donnerstag, 16. April, sowie am Montag, 18. Mai, die Möglichkeit, alle Studiengänge kennenzulernen und Fragen zu stellen. Neben einführenden Informationen und Hinweisen rund um das Thema „Studium“ werden auch Einblicke in je zwei persönlich gewählte Fachrichtungen, der Austausch mit Lehrenden und Studierenden und Eindrücke vom Campusleben ermöglicht. Als Fachrichtungen stehen Seefahrt und Maritime Wissenschaften, Soziale Arbeit und Gesundheit, Elektrotechnik & Informatik, Maschinenbau, Naturwissenschaftliche Technik sowie Wirtschaft zur Wahl.
Für Schulklassen ist eine vorherige Anmeldung per E-Mail an kirsten.agostini(at)hs-emden-leer.de erforderlich. Einzelpersonen können ohne Anmeldung teilnehmen. Treffpunkt ist jeweils um 08.45 Uhr auf dem Platz vor der Mensa am Campus Emden. Die Informationstage enden jeweils um 12.30 Uhr.
