Projektbeschreibung Die Dekarbonisierung und Digitalisierung zwingen die deutsche Energiewirtschaft zu einer fundamentalen Restrukturierung. Kleinere und mittlere Stadtwerke stehen vor der Herausforderung, komplexe, multimodale Infrastrukturen zu planen und operativ zu betreiben. Dieses Projekt untersucht die Schnittstelle zwischen strategischer Netzplanung, technischer Sektorenkopplung und den langfristigen regulatorischen Rahmenbedingungen. Ziel ist es, basierend auf aktuellen Leitstudien ein konsistentes technisches und regulatorisches Transformationsmodell für kleinere Stadtwerke zu erarbeiten.

Integration of the Fischertechnik circuit system with Transfact ERP – Development of a REST-based IT infrastructure with RFID tracking

Anbindung des Fischertechnik-Kreissystems an Transfact ERP – Entwicklung einer REST-basierten IT-Infrastruktur mit RFID-Nachverfolgung

The goal of this project is to develop and implement an IT infrastructure that enables the plant to be controlled via the Transfact ERP system. Similar to the existing learning factories (Fischertechnik demonstrator and LAB 4.0), a REST-based server-client architecture is to be implemented to ensure bidirectional communication between the ERP system and the plant control system. In addition, product traceability is to be implemented using RFID chips so that production orders, material flows, and processing statuses can be clearly assigned.

LAB 4.0 Energy Management System

Energiemanagementsystem LAB 4.0

The goal of this project is to establish and develop an energy management system (EnMS) for LAB 4.0 that collects, processes, and analyzes measurement data from the physical production facilities. The initial focus is on the collection and analysis of energy consumption data (e.g., peak loads, specific energy consumption, carbon footprint) without feeding the measurement data back into the ERP system (Transfact ERP). The data obtained will be analyzed using simulation (AnyLogic) to identify potential for optimization in terms of energy efficiency. In addition, a user-friendly visualization of the relevant key performance indicators is planned to enable informed decision-making support. The project contributes to the sustainable digitalization of LAB 4.0 and serves as a teaching and research platform for Industry 4.0 as well as for resource-efficient production.

The Fischertechnik training facility, newly established as part of the 4th-semester Mechanical Engineering & Design project management course, is to be transitioned from the prototype stage to a fully operational state.
The goal of this project is to carry out the necessary remaining work to ensure smooth plant operation and to create complete technical documentation. This includes inspecting and optimizing the mechanical and electrical components, analyzing and troubleshooting control elements, and creating assembly diagrams, circuit diagrams, and operating instructions. The documentation is intended to support future maintenance, expansion, and teaching activities and ensure the sustainable use of the demonstrator in the laboratory.

Brief description of Premdek
In the ‘Premdek’ project, a virtual power plant is being planned and simulated at system level. The interactions between decentralized energy generators, storage systems and consumers are being investigated and optimized.
Project description:
The aim of the project is to transfer the existing Premdek technology into a compact, scaled-down version that retains all the essential functions for planning virtual power plants. Critical system components are to be identified and specifically reduced in order to develop a functional, scalable model that is easy to handle.

Funktionsaufbau der generischen Simulation

The aim of this project is the application-oriented further development of a generic simulation solution that supports companies with different manufacturing principles (e.g. flow production and workshop production) in efficiently analysing and optimising their production processes. The model is intended to automatically generate a simulation model from existing ERP data that can be adapted with minimal effort and provides meaningful key figures such as OEE, capacity utilisation, waiting times and production rejects. In addition to modelling, the focus is on developing a user-friendly visualisation and an intuitive operating concept - so that the system is easy to understand and appealing to users.

An overview of software solutions is needed and the implementation potential for Industry 4.0 evaluated.
