Sutainability team

Get to know the N-Team at Emden Leer University of Applied Sciences: A student initiative founded in 2019.

"Our aim is to make living and studying at Emden Leer University of Applied Sciences and in the region more sustainable. We meet regularly to do this. We want to present green ideas that have already been implemented at Emden Leer University of Applied Sciences and in the region and tackle further projects."

Solar boat team

The "Solar Boat Project" has been running at Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences since 2005. Students from various departments have built and continuously developed a solar-powered boat through interdisciplinary work.

Wind Challenge

In the "Wind Challenge" project, students work in an interdisciplinary manner on the development, construction and testing of a small wind turbine. The project creates an atmosphere in which students from a wide range of scientific disciplines can contribute their theoretical and practical knowledge. And not just in boring online video conferences, but by means of a concrete, challenging task!

Scientists4Future

We’ve had the Emden/Leer regional group of “Scientists for Future” since 2019. Scientists from various disciplines at the university want to raise awareness of the urgency of taking action against climate change. Members are active within the university, but are also available as contact persons for citizens from Emden/Leer and beyond, e.g. for lectures.

If you are academically active at the university and would like to get involved, it is best to sign up to the mailing list directly at: https://groups.io/g/S4F-Emden-Leer.

If you have an enquiry for S4F Emden/Leer, please contact Kathrin Ottink via email: kathrin.ottink(at)hs-emden-leer.de
