greentech OSTFRIESLAND

The network initiative greentech OSTFRIESLAND aims to make East Frisia a model region for sustainable environmental technology and to bundle the potential available in the region. There are many innovative "green projects" within and outside the university. In the field of applied research, the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer has been particularly concerned with regional issues of energy and environmental technology for years. On the one hand, the know-how of the university in the field of green technologies is to be used. On the other hand, the initiative also offers small and medium-sized enterprises in the region the opportunity to get involved and thus strengthen themselves and the business location of East Frisia.

Throughout Lower Saxony, the university, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for East Frisia and Papenburg (IHK), the city of Emden with Zukunft Emden GmbH, and the Chamber of Crafts for East Frisia (HWK) are thus doing pioneering work. So far, there have been no comparable approaches.

The HILOG coordinates the activities of the university within the greentech OSTFRIESLAND initiative. In addition to coordinating the content with the other network partners, the HILOG develops interdisciplinary research projects across departments and supports the cooperation of regional companies with the university by applying for funding.
