Do you want to volunteer and gain international experience at the same time or pass on your own international experiences during a stay abroad during your studies? Then these options will definitely be interesting for you:

Buddy program (program of University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer):

The aim of this program is to provide student support and guidance for international students before and during their studies in Emden or Leer as well as intercultural exchange at our university. The program provides future international exchange and full-time students with support in practical everyday questions and a good insight into student life and German culture. Further information about the Buddy program can be found here. 

Back to School (Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)):

With “Back to School” students from German universities can visit schools in Germany to report on their semester or internship abroad as part of a short, interactive project. For example, they can go to one of their former schools. (Link see below)

"Europa macht Schule" (Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)):

The program is carried out by students of the German university on a voluntary basis. These recruit international students to become mini-ambassadors for their country by presenting their home country in a creative way in schools in Germany. (Link see below)

There is not yet a student team for "Europa macht Schule" at University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. Please also inform the International Office (international.office@hs-emden-leer.de) if you want to set one up.

Local Erasmus+ Initiatives (LEI) (Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)):

Local Erasmus+ initiatives are student university groups that motivate students from German universities to go abroad (study or internship). They also help incoming students to orientate themselves at the university and support them in integrating into the new environment. They advise on all questions of daily and student life and are often the first point of contact.

So far, there is no LEI at University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. If you want to set up one, please also inform the International Office (international.office@hs-emden-leer.de). We may then be able to establish contacts with other universities that already have a LEI.
