Main Windows
E.L.M.I.'s main windows
E.L.M.I. is a toolkit composed of currently 3 major applications working close together:
1. The frontend
The frontend, which is the primary source of information. It's goal is a) Browser for input and fast displayment of scientific images b) a frontend for setting up intuitive queries to a multi-relational database for searching scientific images and c) collector for scientific data to each image displayed (primary and secondary informations)

2. The annotation system for mono-images
With S.H.E.L.M.I. you may display, zoom, drag, annotate and measure within monoscopic images. The annotation may be locally within the images, globally for that record and numerically for the following measurings: lines (irregular lines), areas (irregular areas) and volume-model based (even shallow objects)

3. The stereoscopic viewing system
With S.T.E.L.M.I., you may zoom and drag within stereoscopic images. Currently, mirror-glasses must be used to jump into 3D-stereosopic view. It is planned to switch to 3D-monitors (pol-shutter glasses) to easier access to this 3D-world.
A special 3D cursor-system eases the antiparallacitic correction.
