Mandatory Modules Winter Semester 2017/18

Computer Sciences

After completing this course students will be able to implement complex projects by using standard libraries. They will have comprehension of standard paradigms and implementation of multi-thread applications. They will have the chance to learn and use standard methods of object orientated software systems in order to develop applications by using IDE.


Applied Statistics 

With regard to your future working life, it is important to know how to prepare data informatively and attractively. Applied Statistics will teach you methods in order to acquire, arrange, present and value data. In this course students get the basics of the tool: Statistics. After gaining this knowledge, students will have the following qualifications: Recognitions of statistical assumptions, correct choice of methods for data evaluation and testing of statistical hypothesis and the appraisal and interpretation of statistical reports. 


Business Management

Students will understand basic requirements and challenges for running a company in the domestic or international market from the management perspective. Students will be able to identify and analyze various organizational forms of business and know their advantages and disadvantages. By discussing contemporary business cases, students will get familiar with main theories and the ethical, sustainable and social requirements in a company. Human resource management is also a part of the course. By using plenary discussions and group work, students will also train their teamwork and social skills, which trains them for leadership positions.

Elective Modules Winter Semester 2017/18

Production Systems

Production Systems compromises technical elements such as machinery and tools and organizational behavior that includes the management of labor and information flow. Students will gain an insight into practical process and production planning methodologies, production preparation, execution and shop floor management; as well as supportive functions of productive companies.


Quality Management

Students will get an understanding of the importance of Quality Management and will estimate the potential of QM-oriented approaches. In addition, the understanding of QM philosophies and QM dominated thinking is an essential part as well as becoming acquainted with QM methods and QM tools. What is more, practice in team-oriented methods and deepening of comprehensive thinking play an important role. Nevertheless, the stabilization of structured, documented work approaches and the strengthening of customer-oriented work approaches are important topics. 



After having visited this lecture, students will be able to fulfill the main accounting-related tasks of Engineers in technical organizations, such as planning and control. Among others, they will be able to plan capital investments and evaluate investments proposals, they submit yearly budgets for your area of responsibility and interpret reports about it. In case of plan-to-actual deviations, they analyze any reasons for this deviation and they cost products and interpret product-costings. In addition to this, the students will know how different costing-systems will affect key ratios of  work and how that influences decision control. Thus, they will be able to use systems and values of internal accounting for decision making and decision control, and they will be able to evaluate existing procedures of companies.

Students will be prepared to implement project management functions in the field of technology, and learn how to use and develop problem-solving strategies in a creative and sovereign way.
