Third International Day 30.11.2016

On 30th November 2016, the International Office was happy to present the third International Day of the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. Students of the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer were given the opportunity to get consultation from the International Office and external (exchange) institutions in terms of studies or internship options abroad. In addition to this study abroad fair, students from Emden and Leer had the chance to join various presentations referring to the overall theme of study-related stays abroad.
Further, exchange students from partner universities, who are currently spending a semester abroad at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, presented their home countries and universities.

Finally, the International Day was rounded off by the Indian Evening, the last International Evening in winter semester 2016/17. At the beginning of the evening the DAAD Award 2016 for exceptional academic performance and social involvement of international students, funded by the Federal Foreign Office, was awarded to the Turkish student Ecem Evcim. Furthermore, the Buddys and student mentors (studentische Paten) of the university were honoured for their voluntary commitment. Buddys accompany international students during their first semester at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer. Student mentors (studentische Paten) accompany refugees with academic background who do a trial study period at our university.
