  • Short description: The Master’s course Industrial Informatics offers hands-on training in the area between automation engineer and computer scientist. Through the carefully chosen contents of the course, a successful start to your working life is guaranteed, or it is possible to be accepted onto a doctoral studies programme.



  • Type: Postgraduate study: requires an undergraduate degree or special vocational training and bestows an additional academic degree (commonly the Master’s degree).
    Consecutive Master’s degree programme: Consecutive courses of study build upon the content acquired in the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes. According to the Hochschulrahmengesetz [German Higher Education Framework Act], the total usual period of study (as full-time study) for this degree programme may not exceed five years (optional).

  • Entry requirements:
    • Completed bachelor study in electrical engineering (and automation technology), electrical engineering (and automation technology) with practical experience or computer science (VS-PI or VS-KI or VS-TI) or a suitable subject of bachelor study. The entry procedure is governed by the entry regulations.

Type

•    Online study: study content is conveyed via the internet, combined with attended sessions
•    Standard study: classic fundamental full-time study

•    Study with practical experience, dual study: combines study with professional experience

•    Part-time study: makes it possible to study over fewer hours per week, e.g. for people in employment

Admission restrictions

Some courses have more applicants than places on the course, as we see from experience. In this case, the allocation of places occurs through certain selection procedures.

Deadline for applications

At the deadline for applications, your application must already be at the university (cut-off period). The date the application arrived at the university applies, not the date on the postmark!

Examination regulations (parts A and B)

Link to the current valid examination regulations. The examination regulations for an exam at a university or training institution determines the legal framework for interim or final exams. It governs the rights and responsibilities of those being examined and the university offering the exam. Part A (= general) applies for all courses of study, part B (= specific) governs the specific characteristics of each course of study.

Pre-study internship

A practical activity related to your course of study, which must normally be carried out before the beginning of study or before a certain point in time (optional).

Usual period of study

The usual period of study is the amount of time that a first professional qualifying degree can be achieved, including professional and practical activities which accompany the course, practical study semesters and examination periods
