International cooperation in studying, teaching and research in recent years has increased in size and importance. This trend is also reinforced by the fact that the students and graduates with experience abroad are preferred and in some courses of study a semester abroad is mandatory. International university cooperation is therefore an important factor for every university.

The University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer has expanded and developed contacts with foreign universities. The necessary financial resources are provided essentially by the European Union (EU), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK). The University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer is involved in a network of worldwide university cooperation, which ensures students enjoy good conditions to spend part of their studies abroad.
