The professionals the degree course "Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design (for Professionals)” is an alternative to the degree course "Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design": the course is identical, but it is especially designed to handle the typical challenges of this group. In the course "Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design (for Professionals)” the unusual feature is that the content from the first two semesters of the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design course is divided into four semesters.

Your advantage: The time gained is used to increase your performance level in additional exercises and tutorials. In addition you will be individually supported by mentors in project work and learn engineering practices in combination with your professional work experience.

In the later semesters of the course you can specialize in different fields of content:

  • plant engineering,
  • construction,
  • production technology or
  • product development and design.

The course in Emden is practical. Fixed components are: a construction proposal, a practical semester, projects and a thesis at the university or in industry. In this course we teach you the basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and industrial design, as well as examples of specialized knowledge. You thus obtain the skills for a successful professional career.

Course Progression

This course corresponds to the "Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design" course, but it is expanded by a stretched entry phase in the first four semesters. A practical semester abroad or in industry is integrated. The practical semester is integrated in the 7th semester. The thesis is completed in the 9th semester, either at the university or in the industry.
Requirement for entry is a general higher education entrance qualification (allgemeine Hochschulreife), an advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife), a subject-related entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) or a corresponding vocational certificate in practical training with special qualifications.

Hier gibt es die Besonderheit, dass die ersten beiden Semester des Studiengangs „Maschinenbau und Design“ auf 4 Semester verteilt werden. Ihr Vorteil: Die gewonnene Zeit wird genutzt, um in zusätzlichen Übungen und Tutorien Ihren Leistungsstand zu erhöhen.
