Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design - Dual Study Course (B.Eng.) (Intensive Course)


For those who still have no vocational training, the dual course of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design (Dual Study Course) is offered as an alternative to the course ‘Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design’. In 8 semesters you can attain a bachelor university degree and the completion of vocational training. This dual study course is identical to the degree course "Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design”. Thus, in the later semesters of study you can specialize in content:

  • Focus on mechanical engineering with plant engineering, design and production technology or
  • Focus on product development and design.

This course requires goal-oriented work, since in addition to the full course duration of 4 years also a complete vocational training with an exam at the Chamber of Commerce is also integrated. However, you are already employed in the partner company and will be prepared for focus orientated emphasis on your future career. As a condition for enrolment is evidence of a contract with a partner company, direct application to the company is the first step toward commencement of this course. The company therefore will always select their students independently.

Course Progression

In the dual study course with a duration of 8 semesters, the days of vocational training are integrated in the 1st and 6th semester as well as in the time between terms. The final thesis will be completed in the partner company. Students of the dual study course must have a training contract with a partner company and start with an established company training phase.
