Requirements

The prerequisite for the dual study course with practical experience is to have at least the advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife) and the conclusion of a study contract with a partner company. However, on the basis of the high requirements most companies expect the candidates to attain an A-level qualification (Abitur) with at least a minimum grade average.

Every company can become a partner in the dual study course, when the company is prepared to make it possible for a student to do this course.

Electrical Engineering (Dual Study Course) in Emden
Within the Electrical Engineering degree course, all steps of the engineering development of electrical systems of information technology are covered: from the devices up to the digital circuit technology including CAD and the system programming. The focus is - depending on the depth - on issues of automation engineering, information technology, computer engineering or on the area of marketing and sales.
After successful completion, there is the possibility to continue with studying and to attain the degree of Master of Engineering.

Course Progression

The dual study course begins with the in-company training. In the second semester the company training will be continued and finally the certificate of proficiency (IHK) will be filed.
During lecture free time (holidays) the students attain further operational experience in the training company. Under supervision the students can take on the activities of a young engineer. In the second half of the 8th semester the bachelor thesis - usually prepared on a topic from your training company – is written; supervised by professors of the faculty.


Further Information
Prior to the beginning of the semester, an in-depth mathematics course is offered.
