Practical Phase

The close connection to the world of work is one of the essential strengths of studying at the Faculty Business Administration. So for example the practical phase, writing the bachelor’s thesis in a company or voluntary internships make students fit for entry into professional life.

You will receive all important information on the practical phase in the preparatory sessions, which are offered in the summer semester in April/May and in the winter semester in October/November.

Attendance at the preparatory sessions is a compulsory admission requirement for the practical phase. The sessions are held each semester and are announced in good time in the university Infosystem. You are recommended to attend one or two semesters prior to the practical phase.

The practical phase yields 18 ECTS; the student workload is set at 540 hours. All further information on terms and conditions can be found here:

Sessions in Practical Phase

Participation in three sessions is an admission requirement for the practical phase in the 6th semester. Admission requirements for the practical phase are the same as those for the bachelor’s thesis.

The sessions consist of two preparatory sessions and participation on one follow-up session as a “Gasthörer”. In the follow-up sessions, students who have completed the practical phase hold their final talk. They must attend one of these sessions as a “Gasthörer”.

A binding preregistration is an attendance requirement. Please enter your name in good time on the lists that are available in the secretary’s office about 10 days before the relevant date.

So that we can document your participation, please bring your student identity card with you to the sessions.
