Pavan Prakash, Indien, Vollzeitstudierender

I am from Mysore, a city which has a lot of cultural prominence in India. I was a student of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum where I completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.

Are you an international exchange or an international degree student?

I am an International Degree Student since March 2013.

What is your field of study and in which semester are you in?

I am doing Master of Engineering in Technical Management. Currently, am in second semester of the course.

Why have you chosen the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer for your study period in Germany?

Out of all the courses that are being offered in Germany, the course 'Technical Management', offered by HS Emden-Leer is unique in a way that it amalgamates the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering and Management in a very comprehensive manner. As I had an interest in managerial jobs and also did not wanted to leave my roots in Mechanical Engineering, this was an obvious choice. And of course I have to mention, this is the only university to offer Technical Management.

What do you especially like about the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer?

Everything from the architecture of the campus to the menu of the Mensa. But mostly, it will be the quality of the faculty and the resources they provide. The library has stacked up monographs and journals on almost all the topics there is! And of course, a special mention has to be made to International Office. I am inspired by the dedication they show to help.

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for future international students?

Learn German. It not only helps you to get an internship or a job but it also helps living a lot easier and hell lot of fun.

Do you have any advice or hints about living in Emden/Germany?

Go to International Office, if you ever encounter a problem. Roam during weekends and semester holidays. Germany is a very interesting place once you start to explore.
