Meet our Students

Liliana Ramos, Argentinien, Alumni

Where are you from and which/where is your Home University?

Well, I'm from a province in the northwest of Argentina called Salta and my university is the National University of Salta.

Are you an international exchange student or an international degree student?

I came to the University Emden/Leer as an international exchange student through the IAESTE program.

What is your field of study and in which semester are you in?

In few months from now I'll be getting my bachelor degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Engineering.

Why have you chosen the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer for your study period in Germany?

When IAESTE Argentina informed me there was an offer from the University Emden/Leer I accepted it immediately, I found very interesting the work topic proposed and I thought It would be a great opportunity to do my internship at a German university.

What do you especially like at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer?

The people I met here was wonderful, the professional and human quality is really great. Now I know I have a lot of things to improve and I know I’ll can do it, but here I received much help and I learned a lot from my tutor and professors.

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for future international students?

Oh yes! Please, practise ride a bike before to come!...a little bit of german will help you to have a better communication with german people outside university. For the trainees, come when the semester is starting, I think in that way it is easy to meet more people =)

Do you have any advice or hints about living in Emden/East Freesia?

Emden is a quiet and small city, really nice if you want to take a rest on weekends, but if you want to do something else, everything here is very close, so you can do some trips around Germany and other countries.
